Fashionista News: Another Fashion Model Commits Suicide

For two years, the fashion industry has been plagued by unexpected suicides. Over the weekend Bollywood actress and Indian model Viveka Babajee, 37, was found dead in her Mumbai apartment; Babajee allegedly hung herself from a ceiling fan, according to the Thaindian News. Reports has surfaced that the former Miss Mauritius titleholder and one-time face of Coca-Cola and Kama Sutra ads in India, suffered from severe depression.
In related news, one day before the kicked off of men's fashion week, 22-year-old French model Tom Nicon plunged to his death at his apartment in Milan, in what "authorities suspect was a suicide".
So the question that isn't being asked is WHY? Why are all these talented and beautiful people ending their lives. In the past two years, a disturbing number of fashion insiders have taken their own lives. There was 20-year-old Korean born model Daul Kim, who also hung herself last November in her Paris apartment. French model Noémie Lenoir attempted to end her life reportedly after a terrible break up in May. And sadly the list goes on with the deaths of Russian Vogue cover model Ruslana Korshunova, Colombian model-turned-TV presenter Lina Marulanda, Canadaian model Hayley Kohle, designer Alexander McQueen and his muse Isabella Blow.
Fashion has always been filled with glam and glitz but I think now is a great time to do something. But What?

La Joie de la Mode Must Have: Sole Mate

Do you believe in soul mates? If you do or if you don't who cares! All you should care about is having the perfect heel on your favorite shoes. The AMAZING people at Sole Mates have created what fashionistas have been dreaming of since Carrie Bradshaw first step out of the cab wearing Manolo Blahnik's! Don't you hate when the heel on your shoe becomes worn out and you have to get them fix or else you'll be walk with a limp! Well for $9.95 you never have to worry about that. "The SoleMates High Heeler attaches easily to most stiletto and kitten heels. By increasing the surface area on the base of the heel, it reduces the pressure on this area and prevents the heel from sinking into grass or falling into cracks!" I am ordering mine now and you should too!

High-End Photography

So, I do this High-End Photography post to show you (my fashionistas) what interesting editorials are catching my eye. This time is a little different, although this is an ad campaign for designer Antony Morato Fall Winter 2010.11 collection. Top model and Kelly Osbourne fiancé Luke Worrall is just so dreamy, I had to post these dark romantic images. Photographer by Joseph Cardo, Worrall reminds me of the guy I had MAJOR crush on in high school but Worrall is better looking and he has an accent. Hope you enjoy!

La Joie de la Mode Must Have: UV Bracelets

It is officially beach season! For those that love the beach or just the sun, we hear at La Joie de la Mode have found your new best friend! The UVSunSense bracelet! This color changing bracelet tells you when to re-apply your sunscreen and when you've had enough UV rays for the day. All you have to do is apply SPF sunscreen (the higher the better) and then apply a bit to the bracelet. Simple and easy! Once activated, the bracelet will turn purple and when it's time to go back for more sunscreen it will turn dark brown. However, exposure from UV rays differ from person to person so do not completely rely on the bracelet to let you know when you need to go back for more sunscreen. Be Sun Safe this Summer!

Fashionista News: Famous Couple Gets Lifetime Show?

The Lifetime network has decided to create two spin offs of their hit show Project Runway. The first show titled 'Love's Divine' will follow supermodel Heidi Klum and her musician husband Seal around the country while the married couple of only 5 years provides struggling couples advice and counseling. Hmm... very interesting.
The next spin off, will be more fashion based. Project Runway alums Austin Scarlett and Santino Rice will give out head-to-toe makeovers to fashion challenged Americans. Hmm... very interesting. I have a feeling that these shows wont make it to a season two. Sorry. So what do you think, will you be watching?
