On July 25th, the mega company Target will open it's doors of it's first Manhattan location! I am so excited! If you've lived under a rock and do not know of the wonders of the mecca that is Target, I will gladly give you a brief rundown of what it is and the famous designers they carry.
Target first opened as the Dayton Dry Goods Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1902. And to make a very long story short in the year 2000 the company risked it all and changed their name to Target. Target is the second largest discount retailer in the US, behind Wal-mart. Which is bogus because Wal-mart is not even on the same level as Target! I digress, Target also has a location in every state excepted for Vermont which shut down in May of this year.
Zac Posen, Jean Paul Gaultier and Eugenia Kim are just a few designer that have made special collections for the corporation. Now, with a location in the big apple I am sure more designers will be added to that ever expanding list. Congrats New York!
